The ‘X Factor’ auditions have been hit by delays following the death of Simon Cowell’s mother, but the judges were back to work on Thursday (16 July), as the show rolled into London.

Simon decided to skip making a grand arrival, having avoided speaking to press and the fans since his mother, Julie, died earlier this month.
As she stepped out on the red carpet, Cheryl put the recent controversy about her last appearance at ‘X Factor’ auditions behind her, after fans made a series of comments about her slim figure.

Last seen wearing a black crop top and flared trouser combo, this time around the singer opted for a pink, black and red Valentino mini-dress, which she wore with her bob haircut tied up.
Rita went for a far more edgy ensemble, wearing a colourful dress embellished with jewels and sequins.

Along with Grimmy, the panel were joined by new presenters Olly Murs and Caroline Flack on the red carpet.

Caroline had made a mad dash back from Mallorca on Thursday morning, after hosting the live final of ‘Love Island’ from the villa on Wednesday night.

Auditions will continue on Friday, before the judges reunite once again for further tryouts on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday next week.
