New York Magazine has unveiled a monumental cover featuring 35 women who have allegedly been assaulted by once-beloved comedy icon, Bill Cosby.

Crosby has been accused of sexual assault by at least 46 different women, many of whom were teenagers at the time of the claimed attacks.

The iconic magazine has photographed and interviewed 35 of these women as part of a powerful series detailing the abuse they suffered at the hands of the embattled comedian.

Snippets of the interviews with each woman were shared online in a series of Tweets that were so popular, the New York Magazine website crashed.

Former supermodel Janice Dickinson and journalist Joan Tarshis are among the women coming forward to say they were assaulted by Bill Cosby.

The women have assembled in what Tarshis calls "a sorrowful sisterhood," standing by each other to support the claims.

The cover has been widely praised on Twitter, where one user commented: "Important, powerful journalism."
