'Coronation Street' Star Les Dennis Slams Fan's 'Liverpool Stereotyping' Accusation

‘Coronation Street’ star Les Dennis got into something of a spat last night, with a fan who accused him of helping to perpetuate negative stereotypes about Liverpool.

The Liverpudlian actor currently plays thief Michael in ‘Corrie’, and one fan wasn’t happy.

“Oh great, a Manc program making the Scouser a thief.....how nice,” they wrote. [sic]

Les didn’t waste any time replying, pointing out that his character isn’t actually from Liverpool.

“M not scouse,” he replied, referring to his on-screen alter-ego Michael, adding:

Since arriving in Weatherfield, Les has been a huge hit, and back in April, he was offered a new extended contract.

His character has become a new man after starting a relationship with Gail.

Sadly, he hasn’t stayed on track, and when he found out Gail had been telling a huge lie, the couple split and he’s now set to return to his thieving ways.
