London City Worker Dies After Falling From 10th Storey

A man has fallen to his death from the tenth story of an office building in London’s South Bank, just yards from City Hall.

The City worker died after falling from the roof terrace of the More London Riverside building near Tower Bridge, according to the Evening Standard.

The 23-year-old, who is thought to have worked for accountancy firm PwC, landed close to the busy Gaucho restaurant near the company’s offices.

A witness, who asked not to be named, told the Standard: “I saw it. It was horrible. I wasn’t looking up but I saw his silhouette falling against the sky with his legs and arms flailing and then heard a massive bang.”

They added: “I called security and medics were here quickly... I was with some younger colleagues who were really shaken up and upset by it.”

Paramedics and police arrived within minutes but the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Scotland Yard said that the death was not believed to be suspicious.

A spokeswoman said: “Police were called to More London Riverside at 7.44pm following reports of a man fallen.

“Officers and London Ambulance Service attended and found a man in his twenties suffering from critical injuries.

“The man was pronounced dead at the scene.”

A spokesman for PwC told the Standard that it was co-operating with the police.
