A 50-year-old man is reportedly recovering in hospital after having four curtain rings removed from his penis.
The man was taken to the Carlos Holmes Trujillo Hospital in Columbia, where doctors were forced to call in fire crews with specialist cutting equipment.
According to Colombia Reports, crews worked for an hour to remove the rings.
It cites local newspaper El Pais as stating the patient “received medical and psychological care for the embarrassment this situation may have caused.”
Astonishingly, it adds the incident is not unique and that officers respond to similar cases three or four times a year.
As well as furnishing accessories, dining implements are also among the implements which have been removed from male genitals by medics.
In August 2013 a 70-year-old Australian man had a 10cm fork safely removed from his penis.

The utensil had been lodged in his urethra for sexual gratification, the International Journal of Surgery Case Reports revealed.
The report, entitled An Unusual Urethral Foreign Body noted: "The motives for insertion of a variety of objects are difficult to comprehend."
The fork was removed by a team at Canberra Hospital using forceps and "copious lubrication" while the patient was under general anaesthetic.
Needles, pencils, wire, allen keys, toothbrushes, lightbulbs, thermometers, plants, vegetables, leeches, snakes, cocaine and glue were some of the other alien objects retrieved from other parts of the body in the report, the Canberra Times revealed.
"It is apparent that the human mind is uninhibited let alone creative," the medical journal added.
This special brand of creativity was very much in evidence in April, when it was revealed a man had been treated in a Chinese hospital after informing doctors he had a live eel stuck up his bottom.
The unmarried man, who arrived alone at a hospital casualty unit in Shunde, Guangdong province, told medics he had been imitating a porn film when he inserted the eel.
"Please, please help me. The eel is moving through my body," he begged.
