FHM Mixes Up Ed Byrne And Jason Byrne In 'Bloke Test', Refuses To Believe It

Comedian Ed Byrne Is Getting Really Irked By FHM Confusing Him With Someone Else

Stand up comic Ed Byrne has tweeted his annoyance at being mistaken for a fellow comedian Jason Byrne by a national magazine - for the second time.

FHM’s regular ‘Bloke Test’ feature includes interviews with male actors, comedians and celebrities.

In 2012, the feature ran under Ed's name and photograph, but now it appears this particular interview was given by Jason.

The mistake came to light for a second time on Sunday when FHM uploaded the 2012 piece to its website.

But it's easy to see why the mistake was made, sort of.

Despite having the same last name, sharing a nationality, and doing the same thing for a living, Ed Byrne and Jason Byrne are in fact entirely different people.

Ed and Jason shared a Sony Comedy award

Ed Byrne is a renowned Irish comedian with a twenty-year career taking in panel show appearances and sell-out tours and gigs.

Jason Byrne is also a renowned Irish comedian with a twenty-year career taking in panel show appearances and sell-out tours and gigs, but crucially he has a signature mop of red hair.

In fact, much of this wasn’t lost on FHM’s interviewer in 2012. They even wrote Byrne’s reply to a question as: “Yes, because I am a redhead”.

But the printed 2012 article is adorned with pictures of Ed.

And despite Ed's insistence, FHM has leapt to defend its original article on Twitter.

The fiasco has prompted the hashtag #FHMinterviews.
