Benedict Cumberbatch was mobbed by fans following his latest performance of ‘Hamlet’ on Tuesday (18 August) night.

Hordes of admirers gathered at the stage door of the Barbican Centre in London, as they tried to catch a glimpse of the actor, who takes on the titular role in a new adaptation of William Shakespeare’s play.

The actor previously stated he wouldn't be signing autographs outside the theatre, but this is the third time he has done so, since the play's run began.
The show got off to a shaky start earlier this month, when an early review of the play caused outrage.
In a break with accepted tradition, a critic from The Times attended the opening night of the preview run, and wrote a review for the publication’s website, two weeks ahead of the production’s official press night.
Benedict was only too happy to chat to fans
The reviewer savaged the production, despite the point of the preview run being to iron out teething problems and perfect the performance.
But Benedict was supported by upset fans, actors, journalists and theatre producers who all took to Twitter to voice their outrage at the early review.

The show’s official opening night takes place on the 25 August, and the curtain set to come down on the production on 31 October.
‘Hamlet’ will also be screened in cinemas up and down the UK, as part of the National Theatre Live project, on Thursday 15 October.
