Eric Clapton Celebrates His 70th Birthday In Style

Eric Clapton is celebrating his 70th birthday with a special concert film, capturing him in his element on stage at London's Royal Albert Hall.

As well as his special birthday, the film will mark Eric's half-century at the very top of the music business, and more than 200 performances at the revered venue that holds a special place in his heart.

As well as the live performance, the cinema event will also include a special featurette filmed exclusively for cinema audiences. Presented by Paul Gambaccini, it features interviews with renowned musicians Paul Carrack, Andy Fairweather Lowe and Chris Stainton, as well as journalists Hugh Fielder and Paul Sexton.

Eric Clapton continues to be one of the most admired guitarists in the world. He is the only three-time inductee into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, once as a solo artist and separately as a member of the bands Yardbirds and Cream. He has 18 Grammy Awards to his name, and his songs such as 'Layla' and 'Wonderful Tonight' continue to be included on every list of timelessly popular songs.
