Daniel O'Donnell has been announced as the eighth star who will be getting their dancing shoes on for the next series ‘Strictly Come Dancing’.
The announcement was made on Steve Wright’s Radio 2 show, and it was swiftly followed with a video post on Twitter:
The star has revealed his reason for agreeing to appear on the show, stating: "Earlier this year, I decided to take a short break from touring and told myself that I would only consider doing something if it was both different and exciting, well what could be more exciting than 'Strictly Come Dancing'?
"I love to dance and boy am I looking forward to getting started and being the best that I can be!”
The Irish singer will be up against stars including Peter Andre, ‘EastEnders’ actress Kellie Bright and weather presenter Carol Kirkwood.
Broadcaster Jeremy Vine, Ainsley Harriott, former ‘Corrie’ star Georgia May Foote and Katie Derham will also be getting their dancing shoes on, and learning the difference between the foxtrot and the fandango.

This year’s contestants have a tough task ahead of them, and as if winning the contest isn’t difficult enough, last year’s champion Caroline Flack was a record-breaking winner.
