iPhone 6 Plus iSight Camera Replacement Program Launched By Apple Over Faulty Component

iPhone 6 Plus Camera Fault Discovered, Find Out If Yours Is Affected Here

Apple has started a recall program for a specific number of iPhone 6 Plus models after a fault was discovered with a component in the iSight camera that causes pictures to appear fuzzy.

The company has said it will replace the cameras of the smartphones affected without charge however the site does point out that if your iPhone has a current fault like a smashed screen then that will need to be fixed first and this could incur a charge.

Apple claims that the problem with the rear-facing camera only affects a very small number of the iPhone 6 Plus models that were sold between September 2014 and January 2015.

The repair process will not involve replacing the entire handset, instead Apple will reportedly just replace the affected components.

Despite this the company does still recommend that you back up your phone to iCloud before you take the phone in to be fixed.

If your iPhone 6 Plus is affected then you'll be able to start the repair process a number of ways by either going through an approved retailer, the Apple Retail Store directly or by using Apple Technical Support which can be carried out either online or over the phone.

Any phone -- even if it's listed as eligible -- will be inspected first to determine if it has a problem and if the phone doesn't require any additional repair work first so if you're worried about your screen being smashed you will have to get that fixed either at the same time or beforehand.

Apple is in fact expected to unveil a brand-new iPhone 6s or iPhone 7 next month with reports suggesting that the updated smartphone will come with a Force Touch display similar to that on the Apple Watch.

Less convincing rumours suggest that Apple will be increasing the range of colours for the new iPhone even showing a 'leaked' image of a pink iPhone 6.
