'X Factor' 2015: Seven Auditions To Look Out For On The First Episode Of New Series

Seven Auditions To Look Out For As 'X Factor' Returns

You’ve met the new panel, you’ve seen the new trailer, and you’ve read endless amounts about the changes to the show, but tonight (29 August) is the night ‘The X Factor’ finally returns to our screens.

Auditions kick off in earnest, as the 12th series gets underway on ITV, and gone are the intimate room tryouts, with a new batch of hopefuls tryingf out for Simon Cowell, Cheryl Fernandez-Versini, Nick Grimshaw and Rita Ora in the arenas.

The new 'X Factor' family

Many eyes will be on new judges Grimmy and Rita as they settle into Louis Walsh and Mel B’s old seats, while Caroline Flack and Olly Murs take hold of the presenting reins from Dermot O’Leary.

Having seen the first episode ourselves, we can confirm that all four of them are brilliant auditions to the show, but as they all said at the press launch for the new series earlier this week, the show is “all about the talent”.

So let’s take a closer look at who to look out for on tonight’s show...

Susan Price

The 60-year-old retired Grandmother is dubbed ‘Techno Susan’ by Nick Grimshaw, after she gets proceedings off to an unlikely start with a rendition of 2 Unlimited’s ‘No Limits’.

Lauren Murray

We may just have ourselves a new Stacey Solomon in the shape of this 25-year-old dental receptionist from Essex - and let’s just say Lauren’s singing voice is VERY different to when she speaks.

Jennifer Phillips

Cheryl Fernandez-Versini has another ‘you’re right up my street’ turn, when the church singer and part-time carer performs Mary Mary’s ‘Shackles’, with a bit of MCing thrown in.

Tom Bleasby

Be prepared for a SuBo moment when the 19-year-old politics student and YouTube sensation from Leeds belts out Adele’s ‘Make You Feel My Love’.

4th Power

Family bands are usually a no-no on ‘X Factor’ (The Conway Sisters, anyone?), but this troupe of four siblings from the Philippines will not disappoint with their audition of Jessie J, Ariana Grande and Nicki Minaj’s ‘Bang Bang’.

Jon Goodey

It turns out this auditionee has a long-standing connection to one of the ‘X Factor’ family, having previously been in a band with Olly Murs. But will the former-contestant-turned-presenter’s pal have the same luck as him with the judges?

Louisa Johnson

The Essex girl is only 17 years, so will her voice have the maturity the judges want when she sings Michael Jackson’s ‘Who’s Loving You?’ for the panel?

'The X Factor' airs tonight (29 August) at 8pm on ITV.
