Part of a Manchester Airport terminal had to be evacuated after a fire broke out in

People reported smelling smoke after part of the Departures lounge of the airport's Terminal Two was evacuated, leaving them standing on the tarmac.

An airport spokesman said the fire was small and in a food outlet at the airport

He said: “Due to a small oven fire at a food outlet in Terminal Two departures, a localised evacuation took place. Airport fire crews attended and dealt with the incident. Operations have now returned to normal in Terminal Two.”
