This Is What MDMA Can Do To You...

A video of a girl who was left in a coma after taking what she thought to be MDMA has been released by her family in order to show young people the catastrophic effects of the drug.

Amy Thomson, from Glasgow, collapsed at a party in June after taking a small crystal of the drug.

She remained critically ill in hospital for a month, before being moved to a specialist rehabilitation unit for people who have suffered brain injuries.

In the video uploaded to Facebook, the 16-year-old appears in a wheelchair in a garden, saying: "Thank you, thank you everyone."

According to the Daily Mail, Thomson's family believe that she will continue to make progress, despite the brain damage she has endured.

A 33-year-old man, and two 17 and 18-year-old girls were arrested for drug offences following Thomson's collapse.
