Graham Hancock Magicians Of The Gods Author Says Earth-Destroying Comet Heading To Earth In 20 Years

A Comet More Powerful Than 1000 Atom Bombs Will Hit Earth Apparently

Controversial author, Graham Hancock has made more outlandish claims about an earth-destroying comet heading to earth in 20 years.

His over-the-top warning coincides -- rather conveniently -- with the release of his new book today, Magicians Of Gods - a sequel 'Fingerprints of the Gods,' which appeared on bookshelves in 1995.

Hancock believes a highly advanced civilisation was wiped out by a comet 12,800 years ago and he claims to have evidence based on "new travels to the world’s most mysterious archaeological sites."

In an article for the Daily Mail, he writes: "All the signs are that remnants of this civilisation struggled on, sustained by a few individuals who knew the secrets of the former age.

"To their primitive contemporaries, it appeared that they possessed magical, holy powers — they were what I call the Magicians of the Gods.

He continues: "These Magicians left a message for us — not a metaphorical, spiritual message, but a direct and urgent warning. What happened before can happen again; what destroyed their world can destroy ours."

What he is talking about is a comet that he believes would "be a thousand times worse than the detonation of every nuclear weapon."

Despite his theories being widely disputed by academics, his books have sold more than five million copies.

In an interview for the BBC, he said he didn't mind people's opinions about him or that people believe he is cherry picking his data.

"My job is to present a thoroughly argued alternative view of history..." he said.
