FIRST LOOK: David Tennant In Marvel's Jessica Jones

David Tennant will soon be back on our screens, appearing in Marvel's highly-anticipated 'Jessica Jones', with the whole series set to premiere on Netflix on 20 November.

The 'Broadchurch' star will appear alongside Krysten Ritter in the title role, in this second of four live-action adventure series. The others are Daredevil, already out there, Luke Cage and Iron Fist, all leading up to the teaming of the main characters in 'The Defenders'.

Jessica Jones' back-story is that, following a tragic ending to her short-lived super hero stint, she sets about rebuilding her personal life and career as a detective who gets pulled into cases in New York City. David's character Kilgrave is a man from Jones's past, whose reappearance shakes up her life.

Exec producer Jeph Loeb says of the British star's chemistry with Krysten Ritter, "There’s going to be moments where some of the things that she does is pretty questionable. And some of the things that, when you learn about Kilgrave’s character and the way that David Tennant plays that character, it’s really extraordinary."

David and Krysten will also be joined by actors Mike Colter (Luke Cage), Rachael Taylor (Trish Walker), Carrie-Anne Moss, Eka Darville, Erin Moriarty and Wil Traval.

Ever busy, David remains best known for his work as the Tenth Doctor Who, as well as his troubled police officer Alec Hardy in two series of 'Broadchurch'. This could be his big break in the US, following a couple of previous attempts, including filming a pilot for 'Rex is Not Your Lawyer' for NBC that was not picked up, and losing out to Danish actor Mads Mikkelsen for the title role of 'Hannibal'.
