Jackie Collins' Memorial Will Be A 'Party' In Beverly Hills That She Planned Herself

Jackie Collins' Memorial 'Will Be A Party', As Planned By The Woman Herself

Details of Jackie Collins’ memorial service have been revealed, following the news of her death over the weekend.

The British novelist, who sold over 400 million books in her lifestyle, died at the age of 77, following a six-year battle with breast cancer.

Her close friend, Christopher Biggins, has now revealed that she won’t have a “funeral”, instead revealing that Jackie wanted a party to celebrate her life, rather than for people to mourn her death.

Speaking to The Sun, he explained: “Jackie organised everything.

“There’s not going to be a funeral. There’s going to be a cremation and a big party.”

However, he added that he wasn’t yet sure whether Jackie’s famous sister, Joan Collins, would be speaking at the ceremony.

Shortly before her death, Jackie gave an interview to People magazine, revealing how she hadn’t let her breast cancer diagnosis slow her down.

She said: “I've written five books since the diagnosis, I've lived my life, I've travelled all over the world, I have not turned down book tours and no one has ever known until now when I feel as though I should come out with it.

“I did it my way, as Frank Sinatra would say.”

Joan and Jackie Collins

Since the news broke of her death, Jackie’s sister, Joan, has paid her respects several times on Twitter, sharing a glamorous old photo of them with her followers.

Joan also admitted that she was “terribly sad” at the news, adding: “I know Jackie would want me to be strong but it's hard to lose somebody so wonderful.”

Jackie’s memorial is to be held in Beverly Hills, where she lived in her later years.
