"Guitar Boy" Is A Giant Electric Guitar That Doubles As A Working Game Boy

This Electric Guitar That's Also A Game Boy Is The Best Kind Of Pointless

There are times when you might see something and wonder, 'why did they make this?' and indeed when you first look at the 'Guitar Boy', you might think that this product is ultimately pointless.

You would of course be mistaken, because as we all know, creating some of the finest guitar riffs takes time and patience. It also requires being able to take a break and just focus on something else, in this case a classic Nintendo Game Boy, built right into the guitar.

YouTuber Fibbed created this pointless-yet-amazing product as part of the BitFix Gaming 2015 Game Boy Classic build-off, a competition where creatives take the classic handheld games console and modify it beyond recognition.

Using a Raspberry Pi, Fibbed has recreated the classic Game Boy interface and integrated it into the body of the guitar allowing him to swap between riffing or running around Kanto in Pokemon at a moment's notice. A 2200mAh battery provides the power for the Game Boy as well so you won't need to be plugged in for it to work.

Ok so it doesn't have mass market appeal but the Guitar Boy is proof that sometimes, just because you can make something, absolutely does mean you should make it.
