What started out as a one-weekend event in 2002 has grown to such an extent that the City Council had to vote to stretch it two consecutive weekends from 2013. (They voted unanimously.)
The ACL Music Festival has eight stages where musical groups from genres including rock, indie, country, folk, electronic and hip hop perform for fans. Approximately 75,000 people attend the festival each day.
