Steve Jobs Director Danny Boyle Gives His Verdict On Jeremy Corbyn

Danny Boyle, the creative genius behind the 2012 Olympic Games opening ceremony, has warned the Labour Party it must make sure it is "electable".

In an interview with The Huffington Post, Boyle was asked for his view on Jeremy Corbyn. "It is important you are electable otherwise there’s a lot done in that five year gap that people are damaged, vulnerable people, who it is our duty to look after," he said.

The director said while Corbyn was "very admirable MP" he appeared to express doubts about his electability. "Whether he can actually persuade the country to follow him is going to be tough, he’s got a tough job there," he said.

"All I know is, we have to make sure, the Labour Party, which is such a huge part of the spirit of modern nation, is electable, that's all."

Boyle was promoting his new Steve Jobs film starring Michael Fassbender and Kate Winslet.

The London Olympic Games opening ceremony was widely well received. However some criticised it for pushing a leftwing agenda.

Boyle said while "some people" saw the ceremony, which featured a section devoted to dancing nurses and the NHS, was leftwing, it had not "necessarily" been intended as such.

"I think we live in a progressive nation that sometimes is a little shy of admitting that sometimes, that is to do with the people we elect," he said.

"We are a progressive nation in our hearts and a tolerant and I think magnificent one actually. we try to show that in the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games."
