Soldier Hugged By Daughter In Moving Scenes At Homecoming Ceremony

This Little Girl Just Couldn't Wait Another Moment To Welcome Back Her Army Dad

A little girl has melted the hearts of millions after running to hug her soldier dad during his homecoming ceremony.

Karis Oglesby had been apart from her father for eight months and just couldn't wait any longer when she saw him standing in the lineup.

Her dad, Daniel Oglesby, is a member of Fort Carson's 3rd Armored Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division who just returned to Colorado Springs from southwest Asia.

The little girl couldn't wait to hug her father

Minutes into the ceremony, the girl broke into a run and threw her arms around her father before returning back to the rest of her family.

Audience members applauded as she wrapped her arms around his legs, dressed in full military uniform.

Oglesby said: "Being gone for eight months, it's tough.

"But once you see the look on their faces when you get back makes it worth it."

According to the Colorado Springs Gazette almost 300 soldiers have returned from the Middle East over the past week.
