Chanel Mademoiselle Prive Saatchi Gallery Launch: Cara Delevingne and Rita Ora Toughen Up Tulle And Feathers

Cara Delevingne And Rita Ora Toughen Up Tulle And Feathers At Chanel Party

Cara Delevingne and Rita Ora mixed soft feminine fabrics with sharp styling at the launch of the Saatchi gallery's Chanel exhibition.

The gallery opened its doors for the grand opening on Monday 12 October, which saw Karl Lagerfeld taking in the display alongside Vanessa Paradis, Lily Rose Depp, Daisy Lowe, Georgia May Jagger, Lara Stone and Lily Allen to name but a few.

The Mademoiselle Prive exhibition celebrates the history of the iconic brand through the eras of both Coco Chanel and Karl Lagerfeld.

It spans three floors of the Saatchi Gallery and features Chanel's stunning haute couture pieces alongside the fashion house's re-issued 1932 "Bijoux de Diamants" high jewellery collection - the only jewellery ever created by Coco Chanel in 1932.

According to Lagerfeld there is one person who wouldn't be too pleased to see Coco's designs alongside his own.

He told ITV that Coco "would have hated" what he had done with the brand.

He added that she was "never very nice" to other designers and so he was rather relieved that she never had chance to criticise him, - as he took over the helm some 12 years after her death.

Lagerfeld brushed off questions about his "moral responsibility" as a leading light in the fashion industry, saying he was merely concerned with giving people "something pleasant to look at" amidst all the trouble in the world.

The exhibition is open to the public - for free - from today until the 1st November. More information can be found at saatchigallery.com.
