China's 'Floating City' Sends Alien Hunters Into Over Drive As They Claim It's Proof Of A Parallel Universe

Alien Hunters Are Freaking Out Over A 'Floating City' Spotted In China

A mysterious 'floating city,' spotted in China has caused a stir among alien hunters and conspiracy theorists, who believe the sighting is proof that a parallel universe exists.

The bizarre 'city' was seen floating high above the skies in two Chinese provinces, Guangdong and Jiangxi.

In an attempt to explain the appearances, conspiracy theorists have said it is proof of NASA trying to implement a New Age religion -- a theory called the 'NASA Blue Beam Project.'

However, if you are interested in a more logical explanation you'll be thrilled to know that there is one.

Weather experts have said the occurrence is most likely a form of mirage known as a Fata Morgana.

The science of this phenomenon is based on temperature gradients in the atmosphere.

When regions of the atmosphere heat up, warm air rises while cool air stays closer to the earth's surface. This causes light to bend since it is travelling through different densities.

However, our brains assume that light is still travelling in a straight line and we see objects where they would have been if the light had travelled via a straight path.

Light from a skyscraper going through regions of colder air also behaves in the same way. The different densities causes it to bend allowing people to see skyscrapers in the distance where they would have been had the light travelled in a straight line.

And there you have it. Let's all stop panicking and enjoy the rest of our week.
