NEW YORK -- A passenger plane at the airport in Fort Lauderdale caught on fire on Thursday, sending thick, black smoke into the Florida sky. Passengers were forced to flee the burning vehicle, disembarking via the emergency slides.
Pictures and video posted to Twitter reveal a Dynamic Airways jet smothered in flames before firefighters could douse the blaze with foam. All the passengers escaped and no one was reportedly injured during the incident. The fire started in the left engine ahead of a routine flight to Venezuela.
