Facebook Ditches The 'Maybe' Button For Events In Effort To Make Human Race More Organised

Facebook Ditching The 'Maybe' Button Means You're Either Attending, Or A Terrible Friend

Facebook has rolled out a new feature for its public events, it has replaced the 'Maybe' button with an 'Interested'.

Why? Well Facebook isn't giving a reason why but we think it might have something to do with the fact that we all know a 'maybe' person and that what it means is essentially: "I've seen your event, I think it's cool but I'm too polite to say no".

Well now you can be far more honest about your feelings and just click 'Interested'.

Of course we suspect that actually this shift will massively backfire because rather than making the world more organised it's simply going to give us even more scope for not actually attending events ever, instead forever clicking 'Interested' knowing that it'll be logged by the event organiser and then promptly lost into the history books.

There is one downside to all of this though which is that currently it only affects public events. That means you're still going to be facing the social minefield of 'do I?' or 'don't I?' when it comes to your mate's next house party.
