‘Top Gear’ bosses were reportedly quick to interject when Chris Evans came up with a new suggestion to improve the show.

Chris will front a new-look version of the BBC motoring show when it returns to screens next year, and suggested to producers that it could be filmed live this time around, in keeping with most of his other TV ventures.
An insider told The Mirror: “All of Chris’s most successful programmes have been live, from ‘Big Breakfast’ to ‘TFI Friday’.
“It is what he does best and he is keen to play to his strengths with ‘Top Gear’.”

However, bosses were insistent that a live format wouldn’t work for the show, and turned him down flat.
“There is no big fall-out. Chris has just been making his case, quite forcibly, as to why he thinks a live show could work. But the bosses are being equally firm.”
Chris will be taking over as head presenter on ‘Top Gear’ from Jeremy Clarkson, who was sacked earlier this year, following a high-profile scuffle with a producer while filming on location.
It’s not yet known who’ll be joining Chris on the presenting team, though he recently teased ‘Top Gear’ fans with the news that the new line-up had been finalised.
‘Top Gear’ will return to BBC Two in May 2016.
