‘Coronation Street' Christmas Spoilers: Soap Boss Promises That Corrie's Festive Season Won't Be All Doom And Gloom

'Corrie' Bosss Teases Christmas Drama

‘Coronation Street’ boss Stuart Blackburn has teased what fans can expect from the soap’s Christmas storylines, promising that it won’t be all doom and gloom.

This year’s festive episodes have already been filmed and after a dramatic year, Weatherfield is set for some yuletide cheer.

Viewers will see Tyrone making sure Hope has the perfect Christmas

One of the soap’s big, upcoming storylines focuses on Fiz’s daughter Hope, who has been diagnosed with cancer. However Stuart is insistent that there won’t be too many tears.

Digital Spy quotes him as stating: “We shot the Christmas show about a month ago. We are going to have a happy Christmas this year. I think we deserve it.

"It's going to be the best Christmas Day ever in the Street. Hope will have a very special time.

"Despite mounting debts, Tyrone is determined to bring Lapland to the Street to give the little girl a wonderful day.

“All the Street residents join in with real community spirit to make a magical occasion."

A number of changes are ahead for the ‘Corrie’ cast and crew, and Stuart will be leaving his executive producer role in the New Year, making way for ‘Emmerdale’ boss Kate Oates to take over.

The cast will also be welcoming back Conor McIntyre, who plays Pat Phelan, while two of the show’s longest-serving stars will be departing the soap.
