Grimmy was also full of praise for his contestant, saying: “As I’ve said all the way through, he’s got one of my favourite voices in the entire world - not just in this competition. I’ve been so blessed in my first year to meet someone like Ché, on a personal level and on a professional level.

“And I know people always say this, but I really feel like he’s going to go on to great things.”

During Saturday night’s show, Ché performed ‘The First Cut Is The Deepest’ with Rod Stewart, who later described him as a “winner”.

Louisa Johnson sang a rendition of ‘And I’m Telling You I’m Not Going’ from ‘Dreamgirls’ with her mentor, Rita Ora, while Reggie ‘N’ Bollie’s collaborative performance with Craig David was the real talking point of the night.

Find out whether it’s Louisa or Reggie ‘N’ Bollie who succeeds Ben Haenow in the ‘X Factor’ throne, in Sunday night’s results show, airing live at 8pm on ITV.
