Despite the huge progress being made by the transgender rights movement in Britain, a persistent struggle remains around educating the media and public - especially around the language to describe key achievements and the people they affect.
Despite 2015 having been a landmark year, a YouGov poll in June showed that a quarter (24%) of Brits don't know what it means if someone is transgender, and even BBC news presenters have struggled with using the right words to define people.
