What Is The 'Ideal' Number Of Sexual Partners? Poll Reveals Men And Women's Preferences

Is There An 'Ideal' Number Of Sexual Partners?

Whether we think we've had too few or too many, the number of sexual partners is a topic most people shy away from.

Now, researchers have revealed the "ideal number" of sexual partners, allowing us to measure up without fear of being judged.

According to a recent poll, ten sexual partners is believed to be the ideal 'Goldilocks' number as it is “neither too hot nor too cold”.

The most popular answer was between eight and 12 partners, as preferred by 38% of women and 37% of men.

The findings suggested that who have bedded more than ten people were believed to be promiscuous, while those who had slept with fewer than ten were perceived to be sexually inexperienced.

The poll, which surveyed 1,000 people, revealed that any number above 20 was a major turn-off to both sexes and was preferred by 3% of women and 4% of men.

Just 35% of women said they would want to know how many people a man had slept with, while just 30% of men would want to know a woman's sexual history.

The poll also revealed that men are particularly wary of women who had slept with more than ten people.

"The dating game is changing so quickly. I think we are all becoming a lot more tolerant and sexually adventurous," explained Christian Grant from IllicitEncounters.com, an extramarital dating service, who conducted the poll.

"If we had conducted this poll ten years ago, men would have expected a potential partner to have slept with far fewer people.

"But a gentlemen never asks a woman who many men she has slept with."

The poll did not reveal the age of those polled and IllicitEncounters.com is an extramarital dating service.
