David Bowie will be honoured at this year’s Grammys, with a special performance from Lady Gaga.

The ‘Starman’ singer was nominated for 11 Grammys over the course of his years in the music business, not counting the lifetime achievement award he scooped in 2006.
It has now been revealed that this year’s awards show will contain a special tribute to the iconic singer, who sadly died last month, following a private battle with cancer.

Ken Ehrlich, who produces the Grammys, has confirmed to the New York Times that Gaga will be performing a performance lasting “six or seven minutes”, paying tribute to the man she’s repeatedly named as her biggest influence.
Interestingly, Ken also revealed that Gaga had already been slated to sing at the Grammys before the news broke of David Bowie’s death, but her slot has now been turned into a performance in honour of her late idol.

Speaking of her love for Bowie earlier in her career, Gaga told the Hollywood Reporter: “He is a true, true artist and I don't know if I ever went, 'Oh, I'm going to be that way like this,' or if I arrived upon it slowly, realising it was my calling and that's what drew me to him.
"I just know that you can use the theater of your imagination to entertain people beyond their wildest dreams and then you can put something inside of that that changes the world, and that to me is when you make something truly great as an artist.”
She also told Alan Carr back in 2013: “He still runs my universe as well. Like, every morning I wake up and I think, 'What would Bowie do?'”
It was previously revealed that this year’s Brit Awards will also contain a tribute performance in Bowie’s honour, with reports suggesting it will feature Adele, Coldplay and Noel Gallagher, among others.
