Dad Blames Late-Night Bruce Springsteen Concert For Daughter's Lateness In Hilarious School Note

Dad's Hilarious Note Blames Bruce Springsteen For Daughter Being Late To School

A dad decided to be completely honest when his daughter arrived late to school after attending a late-night Bruce Springsteen concert.

Patrick Pipino wrote a note to his 12-year-old daughter's teachers explaining that Isabelle was watching Springsteen's concert until 11pm and comparing the music icon to "God".

"Please excuse Isabelle's tardiness to school today," the dad from New York began the note.

Pipino continued: "In the interest of honesty, I feel it my obligation to be straight with all of you as to the reason.

"Last night Isabelle was lucky enough to see Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band in Albany, and darned if he didn't play for three and a half hours.

"This may not seem like a good excuse, but have you ever wondered how many kids would be late - or miss school outright - if God were to suddenly appear?

"It's something like that."

Pipino, who also has a seven-year-old daughter Sarah, said both his kids are huge fans of the Boss.

"They both love Bruce Springsteen, and have ever since the older one was only four years old," Pipino told ABC News.

"Isabelle would be singing from the back seat and if I had something else on, she would say 'Dad, can we listen to Springsteen?'"

Pipino said his wife, who is also a school teacher, didn't know about the note before he sent it.

"She was mortified by not knowing what her betrothed did," he added.
