Today marks the end of a TV era.
After nearly a year's worth of discussion, planning and good and bad spinning of the announcement, the BBC is switching off BBC Three, sorry, better make that converting it into an online first destination'.
Time will tell whether this proves, as the Corporation promises, a versatile and user-friendly way for the younger BBC Three demographic to find its content, or signals the first tap on the first nail of the coffin of the BBC's comedy output, but one thing's certain... a change is upon us.
As the engineer prepares to pull the switch on the linear output, we look back on a channel that, for 13 years, has brought us a rich mixture of comedy, cult drama and, latterly, first-class factual.
