The professional dancer has expressed her sadness at Paul’s news, revealing that they kept in touch long after his short time on ‘Strictly’.
Opening up to The Sun, she explains: “I’m absolutely gutted. My heart goes out to him and his family.
She continues: “When I was seriously hurt on ‘The Jump’, it was my lowest time and he sent me a long email to say how upset he was and how I’d be fine.”
Ola and Paul were partnered together on ‘Strictly’ in 2010 and they were the second couple to be eliminated from the competition, which was won by former ‘EastEnders’ actress Kara Tointon.
The veteran entertainer’s family shared the sad news of his diagnosis on Saturday morning, explaining in a statement: “We can confirm that one of our greatest magicians and entertainers of all times, Paul Daniels, has sadly been diagnosed with an incurable brain tumour.
"On behalf of Paul, Debbie [McGee, his wife] and their families, we thank you for your kind concerns and support at this sad time and ask that their privacy continues to be respected."
