Crossrail Video Shows Tunnels Being Built In Incredible Time Lapse

Time Lapse Video Beneath London Shows How Crossrail's Tunnels Are Built

This time lapse video shows the sheer scale of the building project that is set to revolutionise London's public transport.

Published by Mashable in July last year, it shows workers beneath London and gives a hint of the size of the project that will connect west and east London and alleviate crowding on the capital's overstretched tube and railways.

The time lapse aspect gives an idea of how long the tunnels are for the new line, which will run from Reading and Heathrow in the west to Shenfield and Abbey Wood in the east via central London.

The line will be named the Elizabeth Line after the Queen, it was announced on Tuesday as she visited Bond Street station with Boris Johnson.
