Ex-Stones Bassist Bill Diagnosed With Cancer

Former Rolling Stones bassist Bill Wyman has been diagnosed with prostate cancer.

The musician, who was part of the band from 1962 until 1993, has shared the news with fans via a spokesman.

The statement reads: "Bill Wyman, former member of The Rolling Stones, has been diagnosed with prostate cancer.

"He is undergoing treatment and is expected to make a full recovery as it was caught in the early stages."

His family add that they are asking “for privacy during this time”, reports the BBC.

After leaving the band, Bill formed his own group, Bill Wyman’s Rhythm Kings, who recorded and toured the world.

In 2015, he released his first solo album in 33 years.

He was last pictured in public at Rupert Murdoch and Jerry Hall’s wedding last weekend, which he attended with his wife Suzanne Wyman.
