Huge Fire Breaks Out In Birmingham Scrapyard

More than 60 firefighters attended a fire at a recycle centre near Alderley Station In Birmingham on Tuesday.

Plumes of smoke could be seen across the city. The blaze started at a yard in Clarel Avenue.

The fire involves 800 tonnes of metal and mixed plastic and rubber. A West Midlands Fire spokesman is advising people in areas affected to keep doors and windows closed as a precaution.
