Zayn Malik Is Giving Back To The Underprivileged Children Of Bradford, His Home City

He might be at the top of his game, but Zayn hasn't forgotten his roots.

Fresh from his debut solo album topping the UK albums chart, Zayn Malik is giving something back to his home town of Bradford.

The former One Direction singer, whose solo career is continuing to go from strength to strength after quitting the boy band last year, has bought a box at Bradford City’s football ground, which he’ll be using so underprivileged and sick children can watch home games.

Zayn has bought the box under his grandfather’s name, Walter Brannan.

The stadium was previously the site of Zayn’s first interview as a solo artist, with Zane Lowe, back in January.

Sitting in the stands, the ‘Pillowtalk’ singer admitted: “I used to come here when I was a kid, with my granddad. I had a season ticket, so it’s quite a personal place because of that.

“It’s quite iconic, I think, for Bradford as well. It’s probably the biggest grounds we’ve got, like, it’d be pretty cool to do a gig here. If we filled this it’d be pretty sick.”

He continued: “I think it’s massively important, for me, that I come back here, because it grounds me as a person, and reminds me of why I started doing what I do.”

On Friday, Zayn thanked his fans for getting his debut solo album, ‘Mind Of Mine’, to the top of the albums chart, knocking Adele’s ‘25’ down to the number two spot.
