Video Shows Bizarre Moment Burglar Uses A Child's Duvet To Hide His Identity As He Steals Money And Jewellery

The thief is still at large.

A burglar has come up with a novel way of disguising his appearance - by hiding under a child's duvet.

Police in New Zealand have released CCTV footage of the thief shuffling around a house in south Auckland, hidden under the bedding, while he searches for valuables.

Counties Manukau Police posted footage of the burglary on their Facebook page, calling for help to identify the thief, who swiped money and jewellery.

Sergeant John Roberts of the Counties Manukau Police Tactical Crime Unit described the thief as a male Caucasian, aged in his 20s, of slim build.
