Missing Junior Doctor Rose Polge Identified As Body Found On Dorset Coast

She has been missing since 12 February.

A body found on the Dorset coast has been formally identified as that of missing junior doctor Rose Polge.

The body was found east of Portland Headland in Dorset, more than 50 miles away from the spot where her car and hoodie were found.

Devon and Cornwall Police said: "Following formal identification, officers have confirmed the woman’s body recovered from the Dorset coast on Friday 1 April is that of Rose Polge.

"Rose’s family have been informed and they request their privacy at this very difficult time.

"The 25-year-old was reported missing from Torquay on Friday 12 February.

"Rose’s car was found in Anstey’s Cove just after 6pm that day and officers from in and around the Torbay area were involved in searches to locate her, as well as Coastguard, RNLI and Dartmoor Search and Rescue groups."

Polge, who worked at Torbay Hospital in Devon, was said to have walked out “stressed” halfway through her hospital shift on the day she was last seen.

According to the BBC, a note found in her car referred mainly to personal issues but also included a mention of the health secretary, Jeremy Hunt.
