'Top Gear' bosses are reportedly pushing back the launch of the new series once again, this time to avoid a clash with 'Britain's Got Talent'.
The revamped show had originally been due to return to screens on 8 May, but the launch was pushed back a fortnight after production suffered delays.
It's now been suggested that Simon Cowell's ITV show has got the BBC running scared, with bosses contemplating moving the 'Top Gear' return date for a second time, to avoid going up against the ratings juggernaut.
A source told The Mirror: “'Top Gear' is already under intense scrutiny and the last thing they need is to try and launch it against ITV’s most popular show.”
A spokesperson for the BBC refused to be drawn on the reports, stating: “Scheduling details will be announced in due course.”
It is the latest bump in the road for the show, which has reportedly been blighted by problems since Chris Evans and Matt LeBlanc took the reins from previous hosts Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May.
It was recently claimed the pair of petrol-heads had fallen out following last month’s highly controversial Cenotaph stunt, which was heavily criticised for being disrespectful.
