Cassetteboy Takes On Jeremy Hunt With 'YMCA' Village People Spoof

This time the Health Secretary is singing about junior doctors.

Everyone's favourite mash-up wizards are back, and this time they've got Conservative Health Secretary Jeremy Hunt in their sights.

Video editing duo Cassetteboy have taken inspiration from the junior doctors' strike to make their latest topical video, which features Hunt singing his own version of "YMCA" by The Village People.

Junior doctors are currently taking part in the first all-out strike in the history of the NHS, which has seen one member of staff quit on live television and led many others to reconsider their employment options.

Jeremy Hunt appealed directly to medics on Monday not to withdraw emergency cover, which he said had particular risks for A&E departments, maternity and intensive care.

The impasse between the Government and the British Medical Association (BMA) prompted the industrial action, from 8am to 5pm on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Hunt said he was motivated by a desire to improve weekend services in the NHS and told MPs that “no trade union” had the right to veto a government manifesto commitment to do so.
