‘Emmerdale’ viewers will need the tissues at the ready next week, when Edna Birch’s funeral scenes are aired.
The village will say farewell to the long-term resident, who has been written out of the soap following the death of actress Shirley Stelfox, who played her.
The friends will gather outside the church and share fond memories of Edna, as Harriet leads the coffin into the church.
However, it all gets a bit much for Sandy and when he leaves, too upset to say goodbye, his son Ashley follows him.
Meanwhile, the ceremony continues as Pearl reads her own tribute, before a choir begins singing.
Shirley played Edna until her death in December 2015, and since then, bosses have been working on her final storyline.
