Jeremy Clarkson Blasts BBC: 'Political Correctness Is So Tiresome'

Jeremy Clarkson has launched a scathing attack on the BBC, insisting the broadcaster has become too concerned with political correctness.

The controversial TV personality was famously fired from his gig at ‘Top Gear’ last year, over a much-publicised “fracas” involving a producer on the show, and has now spoken out about what he deems a “tiresome” wave of political correctness at the corporation.

Speaking at the China Exchange on Wednesday (4 March) night, the MailOnline quotes him as telling the crowds: “Political correctness is tiresome. We really suffered from it terribly at the Beeb.”

He went on to describe a specific incident, which came after he named his dog ‘Didier Dogba’, after the similarly-named footballer ‘Didier Drogba’.

Jeremy said: “I remember being called in to see Danny Cohen. I trudged all the way over the Broadcasting House and he said, ‘I understand you have a new dog and you have called it Didier Dogba. It is racist.’

“I said, ‘It is not racist. We are all Chelsea fans in the family’. He said, ‘Please tell me the dog is not black.’ I said, 'It’s a Terrier. Should I have called it John Terrier?’

“You do think, ‘How do these people operate? How do they keep their minds on what they are supposed to be doing, when their minds are all full of stuff and nonsense?”

Jeremy also addressed a controversy that arose during his final year at ‘Top Gear’, when he and the crew were chased on location in Argentina, over a number plate which appeared to mock the Falklands war.

Unrelenting, The Mirror have reported that he added: “They are just a bolshy bunch of war losing b****** w******. If I ever go back there again the number plate will be W3 W0N, we won. I’ve got no time for it.”

The BBC have repeatedly insisted that the number plate was simply a coincidence.

‘Top Gear’ is due to return to the BBC later this month, with Chris Evans and Matt LeBlanc leading the new presenting team.

Jeremy recently spoke out about rumours he was trying to sabotage the revamped show, claiming he still stands to profit from it if it does well.
