'Britain's Got Talent: Sword Swallower Alex Magala And Singer Wayne Woodward Through To Live Final

It was a tense night at the 'BGT' semi-finals.

Two more acts have landed a place in this year’s ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ live finals, after impressing both the viewers at home, as well as the judging panel.

After the second of this year’s semi-finals, swing singer Wayne Woodward bagged the most votes from viewers, automatically landing himself a place in the final.

Ant and Dec then revealed that the judging panel would have to choose whether they’d put stunt performer Alex Magala or ballet duo Shannon & Peter through to the next stage of the competition.

Both David Walliams and Alesha Dixon chose to save Alex, claiming they wanted to see “something different” in this year’s final, while Amanda Holden chose to “go with her heart” and save Shannon & Peter.

Finally, Simon Cowell chose to save Alex, claiming that although “both acts did great performances”, he “had to give it to the person who is prepared to risk their life”.

And risk his life he did - Alex’s semi-final performance was so dangerous that producers wouldn’t actually allow him to perform it live, instead insisting he pre-record his latest stunt, which saw him dangling himself over metal spikes, eventually falling and stopping himself using only his legs.

When quizzed about what we can expect from his performance in the grand finale, Alex teased: “It’s going to be a surprise, even for me. There’s always this crazy idea that’s in my mind that doesn’t let me sleep at night...”

They will join gospel choir 100 Voices Of Gospel and mother and son duo Mel & Jamie in this year’s live final, along with the acts who triumph in the semi-finals over the next few nights.

‘BGT’ returns to our screens on Tuesday night, at 7.30pm on ITV.
