Bear Grylls has received some disappointing news, as his ITV reality series 'Mission Survive' has been axed.
His show, which saw celebrities pitted against each other in a series of survival challenges, has been dropped after a dip in ratings for its second run.
An ITV spokesperson said in a statement: "We had two exciting series of 'Mission Survive', but the commissioning team continues to refresh the channel's entertainment portfolio and so we have taken the decision not to commission a further series.
"We would like to thank Bear and the production team for everything that they achieved with the series."
They added: "We have a number of projects with Bear in the pipeline and we will be announcing more details in due course."
Irish model Vogue Williams was the winner of the first series of 'Mission Survive' last year, while England women's footballer Alex Scott was crowned the second champ back in April.
Celebs including Max George, Jamelia, Laurence Fox, Mike Tindall, Neil Morrissey and Michelle Collins have all taken part in 'Mission Survive' over its two years on the air.
Bear Grylls currently fronts Channel 4 series 'The Island' and CITV show 'Survival School', as well as 'Running Wild' in the US, which has featured the likes of President Barack Obama, Zac Efron and Channing Tatum.
