'X Factor' Spin-Off 'The Xtra Factor' Getting A Huge Revamp For New Series

The ITV2 show is in for some big changes, apparently.

‘X Factor’ companion show ‘The Xtra Factor’ sounds like it’s in for a major revamp when it returns to our screens later this year.

The upcoming 13th series of ‘X Factor’ appears to have a recurring theme this year of returning to its roots, with three former judges returning to the panel, and the room auditions also making a comeback.

However, Digital Spy have claimed that ITV2’s ‘Xtra Factor’ is getting a big makeover, with an insider claiming it will air immediately after the main show, but for the first time, it will be a live event from the beginning of the series.

This would make ‘Xtra Factor’ more in keeping with shows like Channel 5’s ‘Big Brother’s Bit On The Side’ and Sky Atlantic’s ‘Thronecast’, which also serve as a live accompaniment to pre-recorded shows.

It’s still not yet known who’ll be hosting the show, with George Shelley the most recent name linked with a presenting spot.

Rylan Clark-Neal has already been rumoured for the job, while Roman Kemp and Nicky Byrne have also been tipped, alongside last year’s co-presenters, Rochelle Humes and Melvin Odoom.

Meanwhile, over on the main show, ‘X Factor’ fans will be getting yet another sense of déjà vu when Dermot O’Leary reclaims his presenting spot.

He’ll be taking over from Olly Murs and Caroline Flack, who have both stepped down from the show after just one year at the helm.

Previous ‘Xtra Factor’ presenters have included Holly Willoughby, Ben Shephard, Fearne Cotton and - who could forget? - Konnie Huq.

'X Factor' returns to ITV in the autumn.
