Denise Welch Is Heading To Hollywood, As Former 'Loose Woman' Eyes Film Role

'Most people see me as a tart with a heart, but here I start with a fresh slate.'

Denise Welch has her sights set on Hollywood, as she is searching for acting roles in the US.

The former 'Loose Women' star has revealed she is planning to attend auditions on the other side of the pond, in the hope of landing a part in an American drama or film.

Denise shot to fame in 'Coronation Street' as Rovers Return landlady, Natalie Horrocks, in 1997, and went on to have roles in dramas including 'Where The Heart Is', 'Born And Bread' and 'Down To Earth'.

She also won a TV Choice Award for Best Actress for her role as 'Waterloo Road' teacher Steph Haydock in 2009.

The 'Celebrity Big Brother' champ, who served as a panellist on 'Loose Women' from 2005 to 2013, most recently popped up in 'EastEnders' for one episode as the mother of transgender character Kyle Slater, with fans calling for her to be made permanent.

Denise previously revealed she would like to return to the BBC One soap, following her appearance in April, adding to Inside Soap magazine: "If there is one character I would love to share a scene with, though, it’s Dot.

“I was in make-up for an hour with June Brown, who plays her, and it was absolutely brilliant. I am a huge fan of hers!”

As Denise pursues her Hollywood dream, we can only hope to see her cropping up in a film alongside her new best friend, Jared Leto, who she struck up a surprising friendship with at this year's Coachella Festival, gifting us one of the best celeb photos of recent times.
