'Pointless' Host Alexander Armstrong Recalls Offending Mary Berry With 'Motherf*****' Gaffe

'She's not been back since.'

Alexander Armstrong has admitted that he accidentally offended Mary Berry when she was a guest on the celebrity edition of ‘Pointless’, when he dropped one whopper of an F-bomb.

The quiz show host says he blurted out the word “motherf*****” while filming her episode of the show back in 2012, and - perhaps unsurprisingly - the ‘Great British Bake Off’ judge hasn’t been back since.

He added that sometimes he needs to take special measures when celebs appear on the show, stating: Sometimes the celebs are a bit prickly to start with. It takes a round or two to make them realise we're not having a laugh at their expense.”

His right-hand man Richard Osman also joked of Mary’s guest appearance: “She did not take it well and will not be back.”

Surprisingly, Mary was partnered on the show not with her ‘Bake Off’ co-judge Paul Hollywood, but royal correspondent and former ‘I’m A Celebrity’ contestant Jennie Bond.

Mary has been a judge on all six series of the ‘Great British Bake Off’, and has insisted she has no plans on putting the show behind her and retiring any time soon.

Her fellow judge Paul Hollywood has also joked she’ll be on the shot “until she’s 124”.
