Golf Pro Bubba Watson Takes To The Course In A Jetpack

Now THAT'S how you get from A to B.

Bubba Watson, the PGA Masters champion, knows how to travel. In 2013, he shocked the golfing community by rocking up at the green on a custom-made hovercraft. Three years later and he’s gone one better.

This time Bubba has adopted a jetpack to get around the course in a publicity stunt that shows all the signs of becoming a viral sensation.

The “jetpack golf cart” is powered by a 200 horsepower engine that drives two ducted fans, is capable of flying up to 3,000 feet and can travel 45 miles per hour. It can also manage an impressive 19 miles on a single tank of gas.

In a tongue-in-cheek YouTube video that has already clocked up more than 700,000 views, Bubba explains why he’s so enraptured by the cart: “Golf is always looking to speed up play and that’s what the jetpack’s going to do. The jetpack’s going to make the rounds faster and more fun.

“The biggest advantage I see is the bird’s eye view. It’s going to give you perspective that you’ve been missing. You’re looking at the course, how to play the course, how to shoot lower scores. It’s almost an unfair advantage.”

The jetpack will go be used by first responders once it goes into production between the end of this year and early next year.

Last year, Bubba entertained fans by striking a drone camera with a perfect shot during an interview with Golf Digest.
