Liam Payne has shared his excitement after securing a solo record deal with Capitol Records.
There’s no word yet on exactly when the former One Direction star will unveil his debut solo effort, but he seems understandably keen to get going and show fans what he’s capable of doing alone.
Writing on Instagram, he said: “Very happy to have signed to my new record label Capitol Records. They have such an amazing history of artists, I hope I can follow in their footsteps.
“One Direction will always be my home and family but I’m very excited to see what this chapter brings.”
The pressure is certainly on for Liam, whose labelmates now include Sam Smith, Katy Perry and Rod Stewart.
Of course, we’ve already heard some solo material from Liam, in the form of his efforts as Big Payno.
Y’know when he made those... ermm... interesting remixes of 1D songs?
Fingers crossed his Big Payno alter-ego doesn’t make an appearance in the studio this time around.
